There are over 250 graves in the Central Cemetery. According to Methodist Church records the first burial at Central Cemetery was either Nancy Anderson or a child named Copenhaver who died in a house fire. Allen Cornett (b. March 27, 1827 – d. December 8, 1844), son of David and Feby Cornett appears to be the earliest marked grave in the Cemetery.
